eLearning software

KnowIT - “Basic Digital Literacy” - is the eLearning content being used for the digital literacy project. The content is developed by Indiss Infotech Solutions Pvt. Ltd. in its endeavor to bridge the digital divide. The interactive content has been developed with Tamil Script and Voice over to serve the rural communities. The learners can learn on their own, with limited support from teachers.

Course content

The “Basic Digital Literacy” programme is for about 20 hours duration and will provide basic digital skills for beginners and cover the following topics:

·         Introduction to Computers

·         Microsoft Windows

·         Emailing and Internet

·         Basics of Microsoft Word

·         Basics of Microsoft Excel

·         Basics of Microsoft Powerpoint

Uniqueness of content

The KnowIT interactive eLearning content is unique and has three learning modes:

See Practise Test
This mode plays engaging video like multimedia simulations of the entire process / operation, so the learner can read the steps and also watch it being done. The Guide mode allows the learners to practice the process step by step. If they make a mistake the software prompts them to try again, take a hint or does the step for them. Learners can test their understanding of the topic. As they perform the steps, the system displays a tick mark for every right step or cross mark for every wrong step. At the end, the score is displayed.

Languages

The eLearning content is available in English, Tamil. The content will soon be released in Telugu, Kannada, Hindi and other regional Indian languages and foreign languages too.
